multicast udpsink fails

JPM
Hi,

The platform is Raspberry Pi with Gstreamer 1.0.x

I have checked these pipelines :

gst-launch-1.0 -v audiotestsrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! audio/x-raw,format=S16LE,channels=1,rate=44100 ! udpsink host=224.1.1.1 force-ipv4=true port=3000

gst-launch-1.0 -v audiotestsrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! audio/x-raw,format=S16LE,channels=1,rate=44100 ! udpsink host=224.1.1.1 auto-multicast=true force-ipv4=true port=3000

Always appears the same error :

Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
ERROR: Pipeline doesn't want to pause.
ERROR: from element /GstPipeline:pipeline0/GstUDPSink:udpsink0: Could not get/set settings from/on resource.
Additional debug info:
gstmultiudpsink.c(844): gst_multiudpsink_configure_client (): /GstPipeline:pipeline0/GstUDPSink:udpsink0:
Could not join multicast group: Error joining multicast group: No such device
Setting pipeline to NULL ...
Freeing pipeline ...

Regards.

Re: multicast udpsink fails

JPM
Thanks Mariusz,

I have used rtpL16pay before udpsink and the same error persists.

Cheers.

Re: multicast udpsink fails

Mariusz Buras
Try forcing the interface on udpsink element:

gst-launch-1.0 -v audiotestsrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! audio/x-raw,format=S16LE,channels=1,rate=44100 ! udpsink host=224.1.1.1 multicast-iface=eth0 force-ipv4=true port=3000

Re: multicast udpsink fails

JPM
Thanks Mariusz,

It works.

Now there are not errors neither in the server nor in the client but I can´t hear the tone in the client.

The client is a Windows 7 PC with Gstreamer 1.2.2 and the pipeline is :

gst-launch-1.0 -v udpsrc multicast-group=224.1.1.1 auto-multicast=true port=3000 ! audio/x-raw,format=S16LE,channels=1,rate=48000 ! volume volume=0.8 ! autoaudiosink sync=false

It seems as if the client had failed to join the multicast group.

Any clue ?.

Cheers.

Re: multicast udpsink fails

Chuck Crisler-2
Are you sure it works? Confirm it with a packet capture and examine the packet data.

Re: multicast udpsink fails

JPM
I fixed the problem two days ago forcing the interface with multicast-iface property in the client pipeline.

Cheers.
